Demokraatit the biggest winners in the Greenland election

Demokraatit (Demokraterne) became the absolute largest party in Tuesday’s election for the Greenlandic parliament, Inatsisartut.
Demokraatit received 29.9% of the votes. The other major winner of the election was Naleraq with 24.5%. The established parties, Inuit Ataqatigiit (IA) received 21.4% and Siumut received 14.7%. Atassut received 7.3%, while Qulleq received 1.1% of the votes.
The 31 seats in Inatsisartut are distributed as follows: Demokraatit 10, Naleraq 8, Inuit Ataqatigiit 7, Siumut 4, and Atassut 2. Quelleq does not secure any seats.
With the victory, it will be Demokraatit leading the government negotiations.
