Denmark’s King Sends Condolences After Attack on Christmas Market
His Majesty the King has today sent a letter of condolences to the President of Germany, H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, following the attack in Magdeburg, Germany.
In the letter of condolences, the King writes:
“Dear Mr. President, deeply shocked by the tragic attack yesterday evening in Magdeburg, I express to you and the German people my most sincere condolences.
My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and friends. May they find comfort and strength during this difficult time.”
The attack, where a car drove into a crowd at a Christmas market for several hundred meters, has so far claimed the lives of five people, including a child, and left more than 200 injured.
Police arrested a 50-year-old Saudi Arabian man at the scene.
